Can I use USER_INPUT data outside the VM

Hi,

I'm new to voneCloud. We wan't to make use of the custom USER_DATA that is passed by the user while instantiating a template.

The docs state that the USER_DATA is injected into the VM. Is there also a way to access the USER_DATA from outside the VM?

e.g.:
- read the data from vOneCloud (e.g. from a script)
- pass the USER_DATA to VMWare Tags/Attributes
- select the data from the MARIADB

Would it be possible to automatically trigger a script after instantiating VMs?
We want to add some user added metadata to the VMs.

thanks,

Volker

CONTEXT information, such as custom vars, can be queried with the vOneCloud API.

It is possible to trigger a script using hooks. In vOneCloud hooks are not supported in automatic upgrade, so if you are planning to run in production you may want to take a look at OpenNebula: http://opennebula.org
