How to remove a VM from vOneCloud

After you import a VM from wild under your host how do you remove the VM from management and back to wild. In another word how to remove a VM from vOneCloud while not removing it from Vcenter host.

This is currently not supported.

Could you please elaborate your use case to justify this inclusion in future releases?

Sorry just to elaborate a bit more, I need to reimport a VM in vOneCloud how would I do that ?

I've imported a VM to vOnecloud there didn't have VNC setup before hand now in order to get VNC console working again I need to reimport the VM again, not sure how to do that.

Thanks or the detailed feedback.

We will study the possibility of enabling VNC of a VM after its being imported/deployed, in future versions of vOneCloud.

It is still not possible to remove a vOneCloud VM without removing it from vCenter unless you fiddle with the DB. Could you briefly describe the use case for this feature?

Some virtual machines were imported for test purposes and need to be removed.

Could you please share with me the required actions on the database in order to remove the imported vms?

Easiest way to achieve this is to log in into the appliance and rename the following file:

   /var/lib/one/remotes/vmm/vcenter/cancel

then you can safely delete the VMs from vOneCloud without impacting vCenter. Please try this approach first with a non important VM.

[Edited to change a wrong script name]

Unfortunately the rename of the specific file did not change anything.

I even moved the file to another folder but the virtual machine is still deleted from the vcenter server when it is terminated from vOneCloud.

Which action are you using? Try with "recover" and the delete, not with shutdown (you'll need to rename "shutdown" script for this)

I was using the action "Terminate"

It works ok with the recover-delete, I will run some more tests and let you know.

Thanks.

tried the recover-delete on a VM I wanted to remove from vOnecloud but it deleted it from vcenter as well which is not what I wanted.

Using latest 3.0
